What "BIKAFFE" means
BIKAFFE, an Arabic word (in Lebanese dialect) that means “Enough”. Enough violence and child abuse!
We are here to help. We are here to listen, to be your shoulder to cry on, to welcome you with arms wide open and share your pain. We are here to help you overcome your hardships and learn how to avoid being a victim of abuse. We are here to empower you.
BIKAFFE also means “in my hand”. “Kaffak BiKaffe” is our slogan, and it can be interpreted in 2 ways:
It translates to “your helping hand is good enough” for us.
It is also meant as “let’s hold hands”, for together we are stronger against child abuse and can stand in the way of violence. In this way, we would be supporting our
How "Bikaffe" was born
Child abuse and violence are unfortunately on the rise in Lebanon, with new cases being reported almost daily. Heartbreaking stories about children being sexually abused and subject to violence come to us from different sources, mainly members of educational institutions (teachers, parents’ committees members, etc.). Because of all the terrible things we hear that are happening in schools and elsewhere, we were saddened by the misery of those unfortunate children, and we felt the need to do something about it. All of this led to a group of people deciding to join forces under one NGO that would have as a main goal to fight and put an end to such acts of child abuse, so that not a single child endures such horrible pain anymore. We want our children to enjoy a bright future, so we will raise our voice and work for a society built on noble values.
Every person is entitled to live their life in their own way freely.
Regardless of all the ethnic and cultural differences, we are all humans.
We believe in freedom.
We are a secular organization.
We also believe that every child has the right to adequate living conditions, education and care provided by both their family and society.
